Intel Corporation has announced two major leadership appointments aimed at strengthening its client computing business and accelerating innovation in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
The company confirmed that Alex Katouzian will join Intel as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Client Computing and Physical AI Group, while Pushkar Ranade has officially been named Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
The appointments reflect Intel’s broader strategy to position itself at the center of next generation AI systems, edge computing, robotics, and advanced semiconductor technologies.
Alex Katouzian to Lead Intel’s Client Computing and Physical AI Division
According to Intel, Alex Katouzian will oversee the company’s client computing operations while also leading efforts tied to physical AI technologies, including robotics, autonomous systems, and AI powered devices.
Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan described AI as a transformational opportunity that is reshaping the future of computing.
Katouzian joins Intel from Qualcomm Technologies, where he previously served as Executive Vice President and Group General Manager for Mobile, Compute, and Extended Reality (XR). He is widely recognized in the technology industry for his leadership in mobile and computing innovation.
Speaking on his appointment, Katouzian said Intel is laying the foundation for AI driven transformation across AI PCs, edge AI inference, and physical AI systems.
He is expected to officially join Intel later in May 2026.
Pushkar Ranade Confirmed as Intel Chief Technology Officer
Intel also announced the appointment of Pushkar Ranade as the company’s Chief Technology Officer after previously serving in the role on an interim basis.
As CTO, Ranade will oversee Intel’s technology strategy and special innovation projects focused on advanced fields such as:
- Quantum computing
- Neuromorphic computing
- Photonics
- Advanced materials research
Ranade will also continue serving as Chief of Staff to CEO Lip-Bu Tan to help maintain alignment between Intel’s business priorities and long term technology roadmap.
Intel Expands Focus on AI and Emerging Technologies
The leadership changes come as Intel intensifies efforts to compete in the rapidly growing AI and semiconductor market. The company has increasingly focused on AI powered PCs, edge computing, robotics, and intelligent systems as part of its future growth strategy.
