Africa50’s Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa Project Development Fund (AGIA-PD) has secured a fresh $50 million in commitments from Italy’s Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and France’s Proparco, announced at the 2026 Infra for Africa Forum in Dar es Salaam. The fund, which provides early-stage risk capital to help develop bankable green infrastructure projects across the continent, reached first close at $118 million in August 2025 with backing from the African Development Bank, KfW, BOAD, the UK’s FCDO, the Soros Economic Development Fund and the African Climate Foundation. With total commitments now around $168 million against a $400 million fundraising target, the fund still has roughly $232 million in room for additional limited partners, and aims to ultimately help generate up to $10 billion in bankable green infrastructure investment across Africa.
