British International Investment has committed $20 million to Africa50’s Infrastructure Acceleration Fund, becoming its newest limited partner and signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Africa50 to identify co-investment and co-financing opportunities across African infrastructure. The commitment, announced at the 2026 Infra for Africa Forum in Dar es Salaam, brings the fund’s total commitments to approximately $330 million. The IAF invests in equity and quasi-equity across power, transport and logistics, water and sanitation, and digital and social infrastructure, and was launched in 2023 with an original $500 million target — meaning roughly $170 million in fundraising room remains. The same forum also produced new Africa50 partnerships covering a small-scale LNG project in Tanzania, electricity transmission and healthcare infrastructure.
