Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investment platform founded by the African Development Bank and African states following a 2012 African Union declaration calling for innovative solutions to close the continent’s infrastructure financing gap. Headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco, and launched in 2014, Africa50 held its Constitutive General Assembly in 2015 with around $700 million in initial capital subscriptions from 20 African states and the AfDB; its shareholder base has since grown to 38, including 33 African countries plus institutions such as the Central Bank of West African States and the Public Investment Corporation. Alain Ebobissé serves as CEO, with AfDB President Dr Sidi Ould Tah’s predecessor Akinwumi Adesina having chaired the board through much of the platform’s growth. Africa50 manages multiple investment vehicles, including the Infrastructure Acceleration Fund and the Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa Project Development Fund (AGIA-PD), and has become one of the continent’s most active infrastructure capital mobilisers.

Full Access

You've seen the essential facts. Full Access turns every record into connected intelligence — giving you the context, relationships and forward-looking insights needed to make informed decisions.

The information above tells you what has happened. Full Access goes further by connecting the companies, capital, policy, procurement and market signals behind each development, while continuously updating records as new information emerges.

We rate confidence, not just report it. Every record is assigned a confidence level — Confirmed, Reported or Estimated — so you know how much weight to place on the information before acting.
Built to connect. Records are designed to link projects, companies, capital, policy and related developments, helping you understand the wider picture as new intelligence becomes available.
Built for decisions, not scrolling. Beyond reporting events, Full Access helps you understand what may happen next, where opportunities are emerging and how developments could affect your organisation.
