Important verification note: The ₦3,043,853,469.56 figure relates specifically to the Lamido Aliyu Mustapha Flyover; it should not be combined with the ₦5,089,580,087.69 cost of the separate Police Roundabout Grade Interchange.
The Lamido Aliyu Mustapha Flyover was developed at the Total Filling Station Junction in Jimeta, Yola, as part of the Fintiri administration's urban renewal programme. The project was intended to improve traffic flow at a major intersection and reduce congestion associated with increasing urban traffic.
The project included the flyover structure, a ground-level roundabout for traffic distribution and additional lanes along the adjoining roads. The contract was awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited.
At ₦3.043 billion, it was one of the two major grade-separated transport projects flagged off by the Fintiri administration in August 2020. The other, the Police Roundabout Grade Interchange, was separately valued at approximately ₦5.09 billion.
The flyover was completed and commissioned on 29 May 2021, with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar performing the commissioning.
