The $753m Railway Reshaping Africa’s Lobito Corridor

The Lobito Corridor railway project has reached a major financing milestone after a $753 million transaction was secured to support the development of the strategic transport corridor linking Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.

The corridor is designed to improve the movement of minerals and other goods from the resource-rich interior of Central Africa toward Angola’s Atlantic coast, strengthening regional trade and global supply-chain connections.

What to Watch

The next milestones include project execution, infrastructure development and the corridor’s ability to increase trade flows and improve access to global markets.

For The Project Herald, the Lobito Corridor is a project worth tracking because it sits at the intersection of infrastructure, capital, critical minerals and regional economic integration.
